Looks like someone is stealing blogposts out there…

I recently came across the http://samiora.blogspot.com blog page.

I found this post from November 18th, 2008 http://samiora.blogspot.com/2008/11/rman-veritas-netbackup-integration.html

Which is word for word of one of my posts (including hyperlinks), which I posted in May 24th, 2007.

I’m not really mad, more annoyed that someone would just outright steal content word for word without giving any reference to the original author.

Oh well, I guess they say imitation is the ultimate form of flattery, so I wonder what cut and paste is then ?

    Nah, I see it on blogspot, but see nowhere to make comments. I sent the author an email with no response.

    I wonder if any of the blogposts on his blog were actually written by him.

    @Thomas,
    One more case of blog stealing. I just wonder at time, why the heck there is so much urge to write a technical content? Especially when one doesn’t know how to do it or write it? Sky wont fall if one wont write so whats the need to copy someone else’s work? Just pure shameless act.
    I am not sure that thereis something which can be done. Yes , you may want to put a legal license ovr the blog from Creative Commons(creativecommons.org) , that may help.
    Cheers
    Aman….

    You have a copyright notice on each page, so surely you can get Google to take his pages down.

    This blog stealing is done by people who are using your content to raise their page rank on google. Then they hope and pray that someone reads the content and clicks on their google adsense ads and makes them $10 a month. In some locales that a lot of money. That’s all that it is happening.
